Respiratory virus season is here, and vaccination remains one of the most effective ways to protect patients from serious illness, hospitalization, and complications. Encourage eligible patients to stay up to date on recommended influenza (flu), COVID-19, and Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) vaccinations.
- Flu Vaccine: Annual flu vaccination is recommended for everyone 6 months of age and older and helps reduce the risk of severe illness and hospitalization.
- COVID-19 Vaccine: Updated COVID-19 vaccinations help protect against current circulating strains and reduce the risk of severe disease, especially for older adults and individuals with chronic conditions.
- RSV Vaccine: RSV vaccination is recommended for eligible older adults and pregnant individuals to help protect both patients and infants from serious RSV-related illness.
Providers play a critical role in increasing vaccine confidence and uptake. Use every patient encounter as an opportunity to assess vaccination status, answer questions, and recommend appropriate immunizations.
Current vaccine coverage is available on our formulary. Covered vaccines may also be available through participating pharmacies.
Together, we can help keep our communities healthy throughout the respiratory virus season.
